South Asian Men’s Health

Performance Health for South Asian Men

Your cardiometabolic risk profile, culture, family history, and life context matter.

Your strategy should account for all of them.

South Asian men can develop insulin resistance, visceral fat, type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular disease at lower body weights and younger ages than many conventional health and fitness models assume.

But ancestry is not destiny.

Blueprxnt brings together comprehensive diagnostics, physiology, goals, cultural context, and all five performance-health domains to help you understand where you are, what matters most, and what to do next.

Why a More Specific Strategy Matters

General Guidance Can Miss the Full Picture

You may exercise regularly, appear relatively lean, and have routine test results that fall within standard reference ranges.

That does not always provide a complete picture of cardiometabolic risk.

Risk Can Appear at Lower Body Weights

South Asian men may develop insulin resistance, visceral adiposity, metabolic dysfunction, and cardiovascular risk at lower BMI and body-weight levels.

A bathroom scale and BMI cannot show how much fat is stored around your organs, how much lean mass you carry, or how your body composition is changing over time.

Routine Screening May Not Answer Every Question

Routine medical screening serves an important purpose: identifying disease risk and determining when further medical evaluation is needed.

Blueprxnt adds a broader performance-health assessment that may include expanded metabolic and cardiovascular markers, body composition, fitness, recovery, genetics, nutrition, and life context. The goal is not to replace medical care. It is to build a clearer picture and support better-informed decisions with your healthcare team.

Family History Is Context, Not a Conclusion

Diabetes, high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease, and metabolic syndrome may appear repeatedly across South Asian families.

Your genetics contribute to your predispositions. Your nutrition, activity, sleep, stress, environment, relationships, and habits influence many of the conditions shaping how those predispositions develop over time.

You cannot change your DNA. But you can address many of the modifiable factors shaping your trajectory.

Culture Shapes Execution

Food is not just fuel. It is family, identity, religion, celebration, and connection.

A strategy that ignores rice, roti, traditional meals, vegetarian eating patterns, religious fasting, extended-family dynamics, or cultural expectations is unlikely to work for long. The plan must be physiologically appropriate and realistically executable within the life you are actually living.

The Blueprxnt Approach

One System. Individualized to You.

South Asian health is not a separate template or a special add-on.

It is a specific application of the Blueprxnt Performance Health System.

The same five-domain framework applies to every man. What changes is how the information is interpreted, what gets prioritized, which tools and protocols are used, and how the strategy fits his biology, goals, culture, schedule, and responsibilities.

The process follows a clear sequence:

Diagnostic → Lab → Profile → Initial Protocol → Implementation

The Diagnostic Collects the Data

Your assessment may include:

  • Comprehensive bloodwork with 100+ biomarkers
  • DEXA body composition
  • Genetic testing
  • Movement screening
  • Fitness testing
  • HRV and resting-heart-rate analysis
  • Nutrition, sleep, stress, health-history, and lifestyle assessment
  • Goals, schedule, family responsibilities, food preferences, and cultural context

The Lab Turns Data Into Intelligence

Your results are not reviewed in isolation.

Bloodwork, body composition, genetics, fitness, movement, recovery, nutrition, health history, goals, Body Track, and Life Season are analyzed together across all five domains.

Your Profile Explains What Matters

Your Blueprxnt Profile includes:

  • Performance Health Score and Status
  • Body Track
  • Life Season
  • Risk Flags
  • Capacity Gaps
  • Key priorities
  • What matters most right now

Your Initial Protocol Turns Priorities Into Action

Your Initial Protocol identifies:

  • What to address first
  • What to monitor
  • What to build
  • Which actions are most likely to create the greatest return
  • How the strategy should fit your food, schedule, family, resources, and current life demands

During coaching, this becomes a complete Protocol that is implemented, monitored, and continuously adjusted.

What We Assess

Beyond Weight, BMI, and a Basic Lab Panel

Metabolic and Cardiovascular Health

The assessment may include markers related to:

  • Glucose regulation and insulin resistance
  • HbA1c and fasting insulin
  • ApoB and lipoprotein(a)
  • Cholesterol and triglyceride patterns
  • Inflammation
  • Blood pressure
  • Liver and kidney health
  • Hormonal health
  • Nutrient status

Testing is selected and interpreted according to the individual. More testing is not automatically better. Additional information is valuable when it is likely to change a decision, identify a meaningful risk pattern, or improve implementation.

Body Composition

DEXA provides a more detailed baseline than body weight or BMI alone. It can assess:

  • Total and regional fat mass
  • Estimated visceral adipose tissue
  • Lean mass
  • Left-to-right lean-mass distribution
  • Bone density

This can be especially valuable for men who appear lean but may have relatively low muscle mass, increased abdominal fat, or an unfavorable muscle-to-fat relationship.

Genetics

Genetic testing may provide additional context around selected predispositions involving:

  • Nutrient metabolism
  • Cardiometabolic risk
  • Caffeine and alcohol response
  • Certain training-related traits
  • Selected methylation-related pathways

Genetics do not provide a complete answer and do not determine your future. They add context to the broader picture.

Fitness, Movement, and Recovery

Health is not only what appears in bloodwork. The system also considers:

  • Strength
  • Cardiovascular fitness
  • Mobility and movement quality
  • Resting heart rate
  • HRV and recovery patterns
  • Sleep
  • Training history
  • Stress load
  • Current physical capacity

The goal is to understand not only disease risk, but also how capable your body is right now.

The Five Domains

Where the Strategy Gets Built

Every South Asian client receives the complete five-domain system. The cultural application does not replace the framework. It makes the framework more relevant and executable.

01

INTAKE

Nutrition, hydration, and supplementation are built around your physiology, body composition, bloodwork, goals, preferences, and cultural food environment.

The strategy may include:

  • Carbohydrate portions and timing that account for rice, roti, and traditional grains
  • Protein strategies for vegetarian, plant-forward, and mixed diets
  • Traditional meals adapted rather than automatically removed
  • Religious or cultural fasting considerations
  • Hydration and electrolyte planning
  • Supplement recommendations based on demonstrated needs and relevant risk

The goal is not to abandon your culture. It is to create a strategy that works within it.

02

PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

Training is designed to build the muscle, cardiovascular capacity, movement quality, and durability your body needs now.

The strategy may include:

  • Progressive resistance training
  • Aerobic and cardiovascular-fitness development
  • Body-composition improvement
  • Mobility and movement work
  • Fitness testing and measurable performance goals

The objective is not simply to weigh less. It is to build a stronger, more metabolically capable body.

03

RECOVERY

Training provides the stimulus. Recovery allows the body to adapt to it.

The strategy may include:

  • Sleep regularity and quality
  • Circadian rhythm
  • HRV and resting-heart-rate trends
  • Stress load
  • Travel and schedule disruption
  • Injury recovery
  • When to push and when to reduce load

This matters for South Asian professionals who are balancing demanding careers, family expectations, social obligations, travel, and chronic mental load.

04

ENVIRONMENT

Health does not occur in isolation from your surroundings. The Environment domain may consider:

The strategy may include:

  • Light exposure and screen habits
  • Sleep environment
  • Air quality
  • Product and household exposures
  • Food environment
  • Relational stress
  • Social connection
  • Family and household structure

The plan must account for the environment in which your habits actually occur.

05

INNER CAPACITY

Inner Capacity addresses mindset, identity, purpose, emotional regulation, behavioral design, and self-leadership. For South Asian men, that may include:

The strategy may include:

  • Navigating family expectations around food, health, body image, and career
  • Breaking generational health patterns without rejecting cultural connection
  • Balancing ambition, responsibility, fatherhood, relationships, and personal health
  • Building habits that work within a shared household
  • Learning to regulate stress rather than only endure it
  • Identifying meaningful goals and challenges for the next stage of life

The goal is not to create a different cultural identity. It is to help you carry your responsibilities without allowing them to slowly erode your health.

The Adaptive Principle

The System Remains. The Strategy Evolves.

There is no single South Asian plan.

Two South Asian men may share ancestry and still have completely different:

Bloodwork

Body composition

Fitness

Family history

Food preferences

Health risks

Goals

Schedules

Responsibilities

Resources

Life experiences

A 32-year-old new father, a 47-year-old executive with rising blood pressure, a 55-year-old vegetarian rebuilding muscle, and a former athlete transitioning out of sport do not need the same strategy.

The five-domain system remains consistent. The priorities, testing, tools, protocols, and level of support evolve with the man.

Who This Is For

Built for South Asian Men Who Want a Clearer Path Forward

Men With a Strong Family History

You have watched diabetes, cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, or metabolic decline affect your parents and relatives, and you want to act earlier.

Executives, Entrepreneurs, and High Performers

You have built your career through intensity, but stress, travel, poor sleep, reduced activity, and inconsistent nutrition are beginning to affect your energy, recovery, body composition, and health.

Men Who Appear Lean but Know Something Is Off

Your weight or BMI may appear acceptable, but you have low muscle mass, abdominal fat, declining fitness, abnormal metabolic markers, or a family history that concerns you.

Vegetarian and Plant-Forward Men

You want to improve protein intake, muscle mass, nutrient status, and metabolic health without abandoning the way you and your family eat.

Fathers Who Want to Change the Family Trajectory

You want to protect your own health and model a different standard for your children.

Current and Former Athletes

You need nutrition, training, recovery, and health strategy built around your current body and stage of sport, not the athlete you were several years ago.

Men Who Are Tired of Generic Advice

You do not need another diet, workout, supplement stack, or isolated health opinion. You need to understand what applies to you, what matters most now, and how the strategy should evolve as your body and life change.

Built by Someone Who Understands

About Pratik Patel

Pratik Patel

I am South Asian.

I grew up watching the same patterns in my family and community that many South Asian men see in theirs: diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, declining strength, and health problems appearing earlier than expected.

I also experienced the confusion firsthand. As a teenager and college student, I followed generic advice that did not account for my body, family history, food environment, culture, or goals.

I became a Registered Dietitian and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, then spent more than 20 years inside elite sport, including the NFL, learning how complete performance-health systems are built.

But this is not a niche I discovered through market research.

It is personal.

I understand the food, family dynamics, cultural expectations, professional pressure, and health concerns because I live them too.

When you work with me, you are not responsible for educating your coach about your background before the real work can begin.

You are working with someone who already understands the context and knows how to build the strategy around the individual man.

What South Asian Clients Say

Dr. Hirsh Kaveeshvar - Award Winning Neurologist

“As a busy physician from a family with heart disease, I needed real health improvement beyond aesthetics. We got my LDL cholesterol under 100 without medications. Even when I was really lean years ago, my biomarkers weren't great.

He understands the South Asian environment and challenges our population uniquely faces. I was so impressed I reached out to him to coach some of my patients.”

Shekar Saranathyana - Lawyer, Startup Founder | Former Ironman Athlete

“As a new dad and entrepreneur with an erratic schedule, I stayed active but never had the energy or look I wanted. Being South Asian, I carried skinny body fat despite doing Ironman races.

Past nutritionists didn't understand my genetics or Indian cuisine. Pratik immediately understood my DNA and diet. After 4-6 weeks, I saw immediate results dropping body fat- things I couldn't do even during Ironman training.

Pratik is awesome for the South Asian community because he gets us. He understands what we're going through.”

Sunil Patel - 45, CEO & Entrepreneur

“I was 125 lbs, self-employed, living alone. I tried to build muscle when I was younger but never really knew what I was doing. It never worked.

With Pratik, in the first month I gained 22 pounds of muscle mass. I went from 125 to 147. The program isn't hard- you don't have to lift 500 pounds. Progress at your own pace. As long as you eat right and sleep well, you'll get results.

In the Indian community, not many people encourage us to build muscle and get stronger. It's not something we've embraced. But it's possible. Anything's possible.”

Ankur Amin - 40, Business Owner

“I've tried many programs over the years, but Pratik's was the easiest to follow because it was customized for me individually. Other programs don't ask personal questions to understand your culture, family situation, household- he did.

The workouts were fantastic and easy to follow. He addressed my knee issues and strengthened that area. For Asians and Indians specifically, it's great to have one of us doing this because there are so many differences in our makeup that others don't understand- food, religion, extended family living.

He teaches you along the way so you can continue even after the program ends. I've wasted so much time and resources on other things- this was the easiest way to do it.”

Robert Shahidi - 60, Business Owner

“A few years ago I was diagnosed with diabetes. My A1C was so high one doctor said I was almost in a coma. They put me on metformin and wanted to add more medication. I wanted off.

I'm down 15 pounds. I'm no longer diabetic. My A1C was so good they kicked me out of the office. Pratik helped with my food plan, supplement plan, workout plan- everything.

He listens and answers every question. I was on the treadmill and texted him about heart rate- he responded in a minute. He's there for you. He's my health consultant.”
