NUTRITION FOR AMERICAN FOOTBALL

Build a football nutrition system you can use all year.

Learn a practical framework for football nutrition across preparation, training, competition, and recovery. The course helps coaches and practitioners connect nutrition principles with the demands of the football calendar.

Use the lessons and resources to inform decisions for the athletes you support, accounting for their position, goals, current needs, available information, and program resources.

For the people responsible for putting nutrition into practice.

  • Sports dietitians and nutrition professionals building or refining their approach to football.
  • Strength and conditioning coaches who want fueling and recovery to support the training plan.
  • Football coaches, athletic trainers, and performance staff who want to coordinate more effectively with nutrition and medical colleagues.
  • Graduate students and developing practitioners preparing to work in a football environment.

You can use the material within your role, whether you support a full performance department or work with limited staff and resources.

Have a clearer answer when the next football nutrition question comes up.

A player needs to change body weight. Practice times move. The team travels. A familiar plan becomes harder to execute during camp. The useful question is what to adjust for that athlete, that schedule, and that part of the year.

This course helps you connect the assessment, the training demands, and the practical setup so you can explain your choices and work with the staff responsible for carrying them out.

Pratik Patel

Learn from someone who has had to make the decisions.

I’m Pratik Patel, a sports dietitian, strength and conditioning coach, and founder of Blueprxnt. My work has included roles with Michigan State, Oregon, and the New York Giants, where I served as Director of Performance Nutrition and Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach.

Working across nutrition, strength and conditioning, recovery, and sports medicine taught me to consider the athlete and the environment together. I created this resource to share the reasoning, practical lessons, and implementation experience behind that work.

The aim is to help you make informed decisions in your own setting, using the staff, schedule, and resources available to you.
